OUR SHOP & PROCESS
Moon River Print Co. is a paper goods brand that focuses on hand-lettering and watercolor art. In February 2015, MRPC was created—from the floor of the dorm room of founder and head illustrator, Sydni Brawley. From our start in the mountains of Virginia to our new home on the California coast, we are so excited to begin this new phase of our journey through our website launch!
All prints are originally hand painted by Sydni, who gets inspiration from nature, Jane Austen, scripture, and the incredible women in her family, along with other badass women. Sydni almost always starts the art process with the words—she swears they tell her what they want to look like. After designing the lettering, the background of the piece is painted on thick watercolor paper. Custom prints are hand painted originals. Reproduction art prints are digitized and printed on bright white cover paper.
Sydni was born into a family of pastors in Fort Worth, Texas and moved frequently before settling in Central Virginia. As the middle sister of five siblings, she quickly learned that loud, dramatic storytelling was the best way to be heard, and put that to use on stage. In 2015, Sydni graduated from James Madison University with a liberal arts degree in Theatre Performance. While pursuing acting she was required to take a theatre design class where she discovered her passion for painting. What started with homemade valentines turned into helping her sister with her wedding decorations, which eventually became a business. Named after the Oscar-winning song from Audrey Hepburn's Breakfast at Tiffany's, Moon River Print Co. is the perfect mixture of her love of story telling, visual beauty, and encouraging words. Sydni recently moved to Southern California and is finding new inspiration from beachside sunsets and desert wildlife.
